Melissa Jaffe
Melissa Jaffe began dancing ballet at the age of 6 and continued with dance and athletics through her 20's. After a college soccer injury rendered two severed ACL's, she turned to her yoga practice for exercise. She realized many of the ballet movements she loved were based in yoga, and she's been building upon that solid foundation since. Beginning at the Yoga Tree in San Francisco, Melissa has studied and taught Iyengar, Yin, Hatha, and an athletic Vinyasa flow. She is also a meditation student of Vipassana, Zen, and Kashmir Shaivism. She believes these practices all inform the other, and directly contribute to overall health and well-being. Students can expect an energetic and spiritually-focused class that is both challenging and tailored to each student's individual needs.
