In 2005, I stumbled upon yoga as a means to extend an athletic lifestyle and remedy the “baby blues” I was experiencing following the birth of my fourth child. After a year or so of consistent Power Vinyasa practice, I began to feel a spiritual and mental awakening resulting from the practice of conscious breathing and deepening into yoga asanas. I was hooked. I began a daily practice, the result of which has been a healthier, more loving relationship with my physical body, my family, and my friends, as well as an opening of my heart to living a life centered on mindful awareness and acceptance of the present moment.
In the summer of 2010, anticipating “phase 2” of motherhood (all 4 of my kids starting school together full-time!), I took the 200-hour Power Vinyasa Instructor Training through “Corepower Yoga” in Portland. I developed a teaching style based on a strong technical foundation focused on alignment and physiology mixed with lightness, fun, and intuitive movement.
I hope to help my students find peace, renewed energy, and strength through the practice of yoga and to carry those gifts into their busy lives off the mat.
