I began practicing yoga in 1994 at the suggestion of some fellow snowboarders in Colorado. I give it credit with overcoming many injuries and walking away from many instances where I probably should have been hurt. In 1998 I moved back to Austin, TX ,where I grew up, and started taking classes on a regular basis from a well known teacher and yogini. It took my practice to a whole new level as yoga increasingly became a bigger part of my life. I moved to Portland in 2003 and began taking classes at my local Co-op. In 2006 I traveled to the state of Kerala in South India and attended the Yoga Teacher Training Course at the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center and was awarded the title of Yoga Siromani (Teacher of Yoga). I have been teaching consistently since March of that year. I continue to take classes to continue evolving and expanding my knowledge and understanding. My style is based in the Sivananda structure and lineage but is more of what I like to call Combined Knowledge, with elements of a few different styles.
